Anti-Wrinkle Injections: A Complete Patient Guide

Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most commonly requested aesthetic treatments in the UK, but many clients arrive at their first consultation with questions they weren't sure how to ask. This guide answers them all.

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription medicine administered to targeted facial muscles to temporarily reduce their activity. The treatment may help to reduce the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet.

Who Administers Them?

In the UK, these medicines can only be prescribed by a qualified prescriber. At AL Medical, all anti-wrinkle treatments are prescribed and administered by our NMC-registered nurse prescribers.

What Happens at the Appointment?

Your appointment begins with a consultation. A face-to-face assessment is legally required before treatment can be administered. The treatment itself takes 15-20 minutes using small-gauge needles.

How Long Do Results Last?

Results typically last 3-4 months. Individual results vary. Full results are apparent at 14 days.

What to Look for in a Practitioner

Confirm that your practitioner is a qualified prescriber, registered with a professional body (NMC or GMC), and that the clinic is accredited by an independent body such as Save Face. AL Medical meets all of these criteria.
