What to expect

Following a detailed consultation and facial anatomy assessment, filler is carefully placed using fine needles or blunt-tipped cannulas depending on the area. Topical anaesthetic is applied for comfort. The procedure takes 30-45 minutes.

Suitability

Suitable for adults aged 18 and over in good general health. Not suitable with active cold sores or skin infection at the site.

Aftercare

  • Avoid touching treated area for 6 hours
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
  • Avoid facials, saunas and extreme heat for 2 weeks
  • Sleep on your back for the first night
  • Contact us if you experience unusual pain or blanching

Contraindications

Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection, or certain autoimmune conditions. Full medical history discussed at consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Is filler reversible?

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using hyaluronidase if required. Your practitioner will discuss this at consultation.

Is it painful?

Topical numbing cream is applied before treatment. Most clients find the procedure well tolerated.

Who administers the treatment?

All filler treatments at AL Medical are prescribed and administered by our NMC-registered nurse prescribers.
