Frequently asked questions
How is hyperhidrosis treated?
Botulinum toxin is injected into the affected area, temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate sweat glands. This is a prescription treatment administered by our nurse prescribers.
Is it painful?
Fine needles are used. The underarms are typically well tolerated; palms may be more sensitive. A topical numbing cream can be applied.
How long do results last?
Results typically last 6-12 months. Treatment can be safely repeated as effects wear off.
